D espite the minneapolis real estate market starting to show signs of life, many experts would warn against investing in the market. The beautiful natural surroundings of the Land of Sky Blue Waters is just one reason people love it here, not to mention the recreational activities afforded by Minnesota?s wild and wonderful features. With over 12,000 lakes and beautiful views, the real estate investment opportunities are not only lucrative, they?re pretty easy on the eye, too.
Investing with potential rental income in mind is a great idea in the Twin Cities because there is so much going on in the city, so you know you?ll always have renters. Of course, the obvious attraction is the Mall of America, where visitors can enjoy an amusement park, movie theaters, and all kinds of dining. But Minneapolis also plays host to a vibrant cultural scene. Known for its live theater, dance and music, Minneapolis is home to concerts of every kind, art exhibitions, comedy acts and more. Minneapolis is many things, but boring certainly is not one of them.
Minneapolis real estate continues to stabilize, according to the Minneapolis Association of REALTORS?. More distressed sales (this includes short sales and foreclosures) are exiting the market than entering, giving many homeowners and investors pause to take a welcome, albeit cautious, sigh of relief. This is the perfect window of opportunity to take advantage of low real estate prices because, slowly, values will rise back up as supply and demand equalize to meet the needs of Minneapolis? real estate market.
This information should, of course, be taken with a grain of salt. An investment is worthless if, when you bought it, you didn?t keep property values and future prospects for the property in mind. In the current economic climate, real estate investment is a tricky business. If you do it right, though, and keep cash flow at the forefront of your purchasing mantra, you could reap significant rewards.
