Lens of Truth - Feature: PC vs Console Gaming?

Today I would like to look at the age old question, PC vs console gaming.? Everyone is looking for the ultimate gaming experience, and most people will tell you that it is the PC by default.? Is this really the truth though?? Sure you will get the BEST graphics and performance available on the PC both now and in the future, but the fact of the matter is that the inferior console versions look great as well.? Luckily there is one gamer out there who has taken the time to make a few videos explaining the pros and cons of PC gaming because despite what many people believe, it isn?t for everyone.? This particular gamer has been an owner of all three consoles of this generation from the start and has gotten into PC gaming over the past year.? I now turn the spotlight to a gamer who is only looking for the best experience possible when it come to gaming, Solid Rev?

Is the gaming?PC a waste of money?? Most certainly not.? There are many perks to PC gaming and many advantages to those who fall into that category of gamer.? Is it for everyone?? Absolutely not.? Just like people have a console preference based on personal taste and needs, the PC is the same way.? There are many things a gamer needs to consider before sinking money into this beast of a gaming?machine or they may find themselves disappointed in the end, which I believe these videos cover perfectly.? It most definitely isn?t like a new console where to can just jump right in and play as soon as you buy it without issue UNLESS you have to technical know how to handle certain speed bumps you will find in your way and if you don?t, you will be sinking more money into it than you originally intended.

One thing I would like to add however is on the topic of exclusives.? There are many options for classic games via emulation (you don?t really need a gaming PC to enjoy this though), MMOs, and real-time strategy games that are exclusive?to (or based around)?the PC.? However, even these games are starting to fall victim to consoles.? With classic games being offered on the PSN, XBL, and Nintendo online stores it is only a matter of time before the mass?majority of the classics will be able to be played on new consoles.? Even MMOs are starting to be phased into online console gaming.? In fact, I am a firm believer that MMOs will be a normal thing for consoles sometime in the next generation.? I also feel that it?s a matter of time before keyboard and mouse options are more?available for consoles as well, which would make RTS games much more playable.? Currently PC exclusives do exist to some extent, but I feel they are a dying breed.

With all of these factors brought into the light, I now have one question for you readers.? What type of gamer are you?? The gaming?PC is not a worthless machine.? No other gaming experience will give you the same graphics and performance that a PC can offer.? However, once again, it isn?t for everyone.? Are you a console gamer, or do you reside in the PC camp?

There has been a few misunderstandings on Rev?s views on the topic based on how I posted his videos where he talked about the cons only.? The only reason he covered the cons only is because he first released a video telling everyone to buy a gaming PC because it was so great and only talked about the Pros.? After some time he realized that the PC isn?t so perfect and didn?t want people to buy a PC and have them be disappointed based on his suggestion.? It was then that he made these two videos talking about the cons so people would know what they were investing in.? Keep in mind that this is PC gaming from a casual gamer?s perspective and I am posting these to help casuals who are thinking about investing in a gaming PC.? Of course a tech savvy person will not run into the same problems as someone who doesn?t have the knowledge before hand.?
