ali - New Diet Book - Healthy Weight Loss Diet

Another new Diet Book: When you have to lose 20 pounds fast, possibly in two weeks or if the constant struggle with your weight got to be a burden you can?t seem to shake off, then you probably already seen the new Diet Book ?Just Tell Me What To Eat!?.

Yet, I can?t help but wondering, judging by its title, do we really need to be told what to eat?

Or perhaps are we attracted by the framework of any given diet plan, promising to keep us on the right track? And if we follow it, then we will see the sun rise brightly and reap good results when the time is up, so we think.

A new diet book, new hope, and a new beginning? but I fear, that telling people what to eat is precisely the cause to why they quit before the belly melts away and actual magic happens. The magic of keeping within a life long healthy eating and exercise plan.

Reading the following short excerpt of a review, the diet plan seems promising. But the title of the book just turns me off and I?d quickly let the book drop back on the shelf to where it was.

New Diet Book ? Just Tell Me What to Eat! is not a fad diet, nor is it a typical diet plan. It not only tells readers what to eat but tells them why to eat it, thus ensuring that they?ll know how to keep eating for maximum weight loss and health benefits, even when the six weeks are over. Readers are also taught how to adapt their own recipes so that they?re low in the quantity of calories consumed, but high in the quality. This makes the diet a long-term solution rather than another quick fix. www.healthnewsdigest.com/news/Book_Review_440/Just_Tell_Me_What_to_Eat.shtml

The title implies that the reader wants to know precisely what s/he should eat and why

So, if you decide to buy ?Just Tell Me What To Eat? or any other diet book for that matter, educating yourself is the key.

Learn and try new food choices slowly over time. Deliberately cut down on foods that are bad for you , but not all at once. A rigid diet plan, that is only meant for you to lose those dreaded pounds can get tiring. Especially when the rest of the family demands the usual foods loved and tried.

Weave good nutrition into the family plan as well. Make rules, like one sugary or diet soda a day only, and explain why and find a better alternative for it, such as flavored water, ice water, lightly home sweetened tea, or skim milk? Believe me, healthy habits get to be addictive quickly. One example out of my own life: Have you ever had your kid wake up in the middle of the night to brush her teeth?

Take control. Lose the cravings by reducing simple carbohydrates and fats in your food and drinks. Eating less of the bad stuff, without denying yourself.

Let common sense rule. Make sure to get all your nutrients by using ?The Food Guide Pyramid?:

  • Use fat and sugar and salt sparingly
  • Choose leanest meat like chicken without the skin and fish, eggs, nuts and beans- 2-3 servings
  • Choose one serving of plant protein daily
  • Choose low fat milk products, yogurt and cheese- 2-3 servings
  • Eat more veggies than meat- 3-5 servings
  • Eat fruit, rather than drink manufactured juices- 2-4 serving
  • Whole grains breads and whole grain cereals- 6-11 servings
  1. 1 serving= 2-3 oz lean meat, poultry or fish, 1/2 cup cooked dry bean, 1 egg, 2 tablespoons peanut butter, 1/3 cup nut, 1/4 cup seeds, 1/2 cup tofu
  2. 1 serving = 1 cup skim/low fat yogurt or milk, 1 1/2 ounces cheese
  3. 1 serving = 1 cup raw leafy vegetables or 1/2 cooked vegetables
  4. 1 serving= 1 medium apple, 1 melon wedge, 1/2 cup berries, cherries or grapes, 1/4 cup dried fruit, 3/4 cup fresh pressed juice (100% juice)
  5. 1 serving = 1 slice of bread or 1 oz of cold cereal or 1/2 cup cooked cereal, rice, pasta

Knowing this, we now can write our own successful diet plan. Learn as much as you can from the books you read, but create something new, custom fitted to your nutritional needs, interacting within the dynamic of your life and/or your family.
