Acts as financial business support for the ES Sales organization in North America. Active business partner to the ES Sales Director, providing strategic and tactical support including deal analysis, structuring and review, forecasting and budgeting. Provides analysis to the ES sales management team in North America in order to that they make optimal informed business decisions. Position to be based in San Rafael, CA, United States.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Revenue and expenditure forecasting and analysis, manage to established business objectives.
  • Manage the budget and forecast cycles for the North America ES sales organization. Set targets that drive performance, monitoring financial results in accordance with strategic business initiatives.
  • Responsible for regional reporting and analysis including trend reporting to aid forecast accuracy. Enhance and monitor regional metric reporting (e.g., Industry Segment, Regional, ASP, Subscription; Product; Rev; Opex and P&Ls as applicable).
  • Facilitate discussion with Sr. Management regarding run rate variance and recommend actions to remedy variances.
  • Act as trusted financial business partner to the North America ES Sales Director.
  • Interface with ES Management team in North America on key financial issues and take the lead on financial business support issues in the organization
  • Deal structuring and transaction review, revenue recognition risk management.
  • Manage and monitor the deal discount approval process for ES in the Geo and analyze results
  • Participate in strategic selling processes and provide support to the deal negotiation processes.
  • Participate in the setting of sales force compensation plans and quota setting. Liaise effectively with Global Commission Office to ensure timely and accurate administration and payments of commissions and ensuring accurate accruals are in place on a quarterly basis.
  • Coordinate with the North America Channel Organization to ensure full understanding of the channel framework.
  • Establish effective relationship with the Financial Analyst organization to ensure support from that team is efficient, effective and timely
  • Establish relationships with other areas of finance, Industry FBP, credit and revenue accounting to help drive the business.
  • Reinforce internal controls with a particular emphasis on the training and communication of
  • revenue recognition policies.
  • Drive efficient consistent systems and processes, leverage worldwide best practices..
  • Participate in regional management meetings.

Other Responsibilities

  • Monitor effectiveness of Finance policies, practices and processes to determine efficiency and effectiveness. Recommend improvements to achieve and deliver improved results. Implement and follow standards and policies as defined by corporate and division senior management; escalates exceptions or questionable practices to direct manager or senior management staff.
  • May lead or sponsor cross industry or cross geography projects within Finance especially projects related to streamlining and/or improving processes and systems.
  • May be responsible for management and development of Finance support staff (including remote workers, in different time zones). Fully responsible for selection, mentoring, coaching, performance management and assessment, and rewards and recognition. This includes team building with those from other units who participate on Finance projects. Ensures proper performance management and rewards/recognition guidelines are followed within own team.

Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant. CPA, ACA or equivalent
  • MBA would be an asset
  • Minimum 10 years post qualification experience
  • Technology background required
  • English fluency required
  • Based in San Rafael, CA, United States.
