Pets of the week | Davis Enterprise

20dogW

Lots of dogs and cats are waiting to be adopted at the Yolo County Animal Shelter, 2640 E. Gibson Road in Woodland. Among them is Muffin (No. 101632), a 4-year-old female English springer spaniel dog with a white-and-brown coat. Also hoping for a good home is Sheldon (No. 101598), a 5-month-old neutered male domestic short-haired brown tabby cat. Fees are charged for licensing and spaying or neutering, if necessary. The shelter is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays (closed for lunch from 1 to 2 p.m. each day). For more information on how to adopt a pet, call (530) 668-5287 or visit http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/CA283html (click on ?our pet list is updated on an almost daily basis?). The nonprofit Friends of Yolo County Animal Services notes that donations to the Yolo County animal shelter are down this year. Items that are especially needed to help care for the shelter animals are liquid?laundry soap, fleece blankets and towels as well as Frontline and Advantage flea medications. Financial contributions also are accepted. Checks made out to Friends of the Yolo County Animal Services may be mailed to the organization at 1520 E. Covell Blvd., B-5, PMB #124, Davis, CA 95616.
